First Energy Diplomacy Forum: Renewables and Women in Energy

The First Energy Diplomacy Forum: Renewables and Women in Energy, to be held on 25 November 2026 in Skopje, aims to strengthen regional and international cooperation in advancing energy security, economic resilience and the transition towards sustainable and inclusive energy systems, with a particular focus on renewable energy and women’s leadership.

Organized by the Ministry of Energy, Mining and Mineral Resources of the Republic of North Macedonia, in partnership with the United Nations Office in North Macedonia, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in North Macedonia, and the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), the Forum will bring together high-level government representatives, international organizations, financial institutions, the diplomatic community and the private sector.

The Forum will provide a platform for political dialogue, exchange of experiences and identification of opportunities to accelerate renewable energy deployment, mobilize green finance and strengthen regional partnerships, particularly in the Western Balkans. Special attention will be given to promoting women's leadership and participation in energy policy, diplomacy and the energy sector, including the proposed launch of the Women in Energy Diplomacy Network.

Beyond dialogue, the Forum seeks to translate shared priorities into concrete opportunities for cooperation, investment and joint initiatives, contributing to a more secure, resilient and sustainable energy future, while laying the foundations for a lasting regional platform for energy diplomacy.
